12/3/19 Return of Posts

I only posted a few times in the past year. I just had too many things occupying my attention. Few of them were good. I am not here, now, to rehash the struggles life dealt us in the past year. We all have struggles. We all have had bad times. When I think of this, I remind myself that some people have bad lifetimes, either through bad lifetime choices they have made, or from some arbitrary, malicious hand that life dealt them to play. Some play their poor hands well. Others run smack dab up against a much better hand. I am thankful for what I have. I’ll keep my cards close to my chest, playing them as best I can.

Now that the barriers have been removed, I expect I will be posting much more, taking inspiration where I find it, but seldom from politics. There is plenty of inspiration to find there, but I can add nothing to what is already being said. So, I will search for those things that are not being said at all. I hope to find them.

Each post of two or more pages can take five to six hours to write. What you read in just a few minutes requires thought and labor. Sometimes the biggest labor is in the thought. To write successfully, one needs something to say. Rolling that up into a coherent essay is sometimes very difficult. Other times it comes faster to me than I can write it down. I like it when that happens.

  2. Chris,
I always find your essays entertaining and often illuminating. I look forward to a new batch in the coming year. I also appreciate your thoughts concerning the dark winds that sometimes blow into our lives. I know something of that experience myself and certainly hear the wisdom in your comments. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Play some music this holiday season. It can be a tonic. I’m going to try that myself. 🙂
    Always your friend,

  3. Your posts are something I look forward to reading. Although, I don’t always comment, it is because you have said it all and I am satisfied with my cousin who has a “Mark Twain” bulls-eye view of our modern day “King Arthur’s Court” and a faith in a kingdom that will not fail. Phyllis
